Interview with Bill Cimino, RF-4 Navigator & Vietnam Veteran (first interview): I had the pleasure of speaking with Zach Wood, a mature young civics and government teacher in NC who also has a passion for veteran stories. In this session (recorded on 20 April 2024; 64 minutes), Zach begins by asking me about my background (where and when I was born) and my inspiration to enter the US Air Force (July 1967). I discuss my early assignments and the influence of various role models, each unique beyond their devotion to family and country. We discuss details of my navigator training and training to survive (winter, POW, water, and jungle survival), before my training in the RF-4C tactical reconnaissance aircraft. I discuss the roles of the RF-4C backseater and describe a particular event during a Combat Support mission over the Mekong River, south of the Cambodian capital of Phnom Penh. The last portion of the interview focuses on the inspiration for writing my book and on plans for the following interview, which will focus on the Special Tributes section.

Interview #2 with Bill Cimino, RF-4 Navigator & Vietnam Veteran: Zach Wood and I conducted another session (recorded on 12 June 2024; 44 minutes) that focused on the Special Tributes section, where I discussed friends and family members whom I deeply admire and respect for their devotion to family and the country. The story contains one who went missing in action (MIA), another who had a tragic death, and those who passed away due to health issues, and even during the writing of my book. Regarding my family, I discuss my paternal grandfather's service in WWI and my uncles on both sides of my family who served in WWII and the Korean War, either in the Army, Navy, or Marines. I also discuss an event held at the National Cathedral on 13 January 2024, titled "A Celebration of Character & Courage: Vietnam War 50th." This was followed by a Gary Sinise-supported reception honoring Vietnam veterans (myself included) with a "Welcome Home." Photos of coins representing the event and the Vietnam Veteran lapel pin are in the Photo Gallery on this website.
